Privacy policy

Defender Camper Hire Ltd is the data controller for the information described on this page. Campers are collected from North East England.

We only collect what we need to answer you and to arrange a hire:

• Enquiry form: your name, email address, phone number and the message you send us.
• Booking: the dates you choose and the contact and payment details required by our booking system.
• Before a hire starts: driving licence details and proof of address, because our insurers require them.
• Website use: basic technical information such as your browser type, needed to serve the site securely.

• To reply to your enquiry and answer questions — because you asked us to.
• To take, confirm and manage your booking — to perform our contract with you.
• To meet our insurance, legal and accounting obligations.
• To keep the site and the vehicles secure — our legitimate interest in running the business.

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the services we need to run the business:

• Our booking and customer system (GoHighLevel / LeadConnector), which stores enquiries and bookings.
• Our payment provider, Stripe, which handles card payments and deposits.
• Our insurers and underwriters, where a licence check or claim requires it.
• Authorities, where the law requires it — for example fines incurred during a hire.

• Enquiries that do not become bookings: up to 12 months, then deleted.
• Booking and hire records: 6 years after the hire, to meet tax, insurance and legal requirements.
• Driving licence and address documents: deleted once the hire is complete and any claim period has passed.

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also object to how we use it or ask us to restrict it. Get in touch through our contact page and we will respond within one month.

If you are not happy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
